SAO

Board member Michèle Sauvain

Michèle Sauvain has been a member of the SAO board for almost a year.

As a journalist and documentary filmmaker for SRF, Michèle Sauvain has been campaigning for women's issues, migration and environmental topics for more than 30 years. Now that her three children are grown up, she once again has time to work on these issues on a voluntary basis. In her journalistic work, she is and has been significantly involved in the development of programmes and projects as a producer for many years and has a lot of experience in strategy development and communication. She has also set up a private crèche and a private after-school care centre in Zurich and is very familiar with board duties.

She says: ‘Migration won't stop if we close our eyes to it, which is why SAO's work is so important. We will be confronted with much more difficult situations in the future, and above all we must provide women and children with a livelihood and a decent future. What SAO is doing is necessary, important and still has room for improvement. During my visit to Greece, I was able to see for myself personally and impressively that the teams on the ground in Athens and on Lesvos do valuable and professional work every day. This is an excellent basis for everything that is yet to come.
