My beautiful story (The Life of a Table)

SAO

One day, I was assembled from some materials to form a table and start my journey in this world. I was placed in a store to be sold. I stayed for some time in the store. Everyone came to see me, and I silently heard some opinions about my appearance until, one day, a woman in Switzerland bought me and placed me in the garden of her vacation house.

As time passed, the family gathered around me to eat food and discuss family issues and social or cultural matters until one day; the house owner donated me to one of the places that assists displaced women in securing a safe and warm place for them. So, I was brought to Greece.

And here begins my story in this beautiful place full of hope after my journey to reach it.

I was put in the courtyard of the building, and the women began to gather around me again.

Women and children of different ages and nationalities sat around me, discussing their daily problems, the new difficulties of life, and the hardships that they went through during their journeys to reach this beautiful place. They shared their pain, their sorrows, and their joys.

Happy days passed as I listened to their stories until I was moved from my place one day, and my leg broke. I felt unfortunate because they put me in one of the corners of the yard, and I looked at the women and longed for the time they gathered around me.

Days, months, and even a year passed until a woman came and brought me back to life again when she fixed my leg. Here, I felt joy that I could not describe because I would return to serve women again in this place. The women's smiles were a testament to the hope and joy I brought to them.

When the women came and saw me again, smiles spread on their faces because I was the source of their happiness when they gathered around me. Until now, I am still standing in my place, facing life as these women do to move forward.

Ultimately, I must thank everyone who contributed to my arrival to this appropriate place for my existence. Their efforts and care have made my journey meaningful and fulfilling.
